Alabama – Home Energy Rebates Program

This program is currently being developed for Alabama.

Town of Yountville – Incentive till funds lasts

  • The Town is offering an incentive to help offset the cost for Yountville residents and commercial operators with a current Town business license, until funds are expended. For more information, please email Erica Teagarden or call 707-944-8851.

Alaska

Alaska Residential Energy Rebates

The program is not specific to leaf blowers, but saving at least 20% on your energy at home gets you $2000.

Arizona

Mowing Down Pollution Program

The Maricopa County Air Quality Department (MCAQD), in partnership with the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) will provide Maricopa County residents with $150 voucher toward the cost of a new electric or battery-powered lawn mower and/or a $50 voucher toward the cost of a new electric or battery powered lawn and garden device at participating Home Depot stores, when their gas-powered lawn mower and/or lawn and garden devices are recycled.

Artificial Grass Rebates in Scottsdale

Scottsdale doesn’t have a leaf blower rebate yet but they do have water conservation rebates and artificial grass rebates. If you are opting for it, you’ll anyways not use a leaf blower. Maximum commercial rebate: $30,000. Scottsdale offers a $2 per square foot rebate for removing real grass and replacing it with water-efficient landscaping

Arkansas

California

South Coast AQMD – Residential Electric Lawn & Garden Equipment Rebate Program

Each applicant can receive up to 3 rebates for the life of the program, and each of the 3 rebates must be for a different equipment category. – lawn mowers, leaf blowers, chainsaw, and trimmers

The Residential Electric Lawn & Garden Equipment Rebate Program will be implemented on a first-come, first-served basis and will provide up to $250 towards the cost of the residential cordless battery electric lawn mower, leaf blower, chainsaw, or trimmer.

Zero-Emission Landscaping Equipment Incentive Programs

There are several incentive programs available throughout California to help you purchase zero-emission lawn and garden equipment. Incentive programs, including the Carl Moyer Program, are run by local air districts, so the details of the programs vary. If your local air district does not appear to offer incentives, check their website, as new programs may become available.

City of San Mateo – Electric Leaf Blower Rebate Program

The City of San Mateo offers rebates for electric leaf blowers—up to 50% (max $100) for residents and up to 75% (max $500) for commercial landscapers

San Joaquin Valley – Clean Green Yard Machines Residential Rebate Program (Residential CGYM)

Enhanced incentives, up to $500.00, are available to residents of the selected AB617 Communities of Shafter, Stockton, South Central Fresno, and Arvin/Lamont (Option 1 only).

Napa Leaf Blower Rebate Program

The City of Napa is using American Rescue Plan (ARPA) funding.

Rebate: Up to $1,000 toward the purchase of new, commercial-grade battery-powered leaf blowers. (e.g. if you spend $750 then you are only eligible for $750; if you spend $1,500, you are eligible for $1,000)

The rebate is ONLY for new, commercial grade battery-powered leaf blowers.

Atherton – Electric Leaf Blower Program

The Town of Atherton is offering a $250 rebate for residents who purchase an electric leaf blower and any associated batteries and chargers.

Households are permitted one rebate per fiscal year (July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025).

TOWN OF WOODSIDE

$250 rebate for residents and local business and $1000 rebate for gardeners and landscapers for transitioning to electric leaf blowers and other equipment

Clean Off-Road Equipment Voucher Incentive Project

 The Clean Off-Road Equipment Voucher Incentive Project (CORE) is a multi-million dollar initiative aimed at encouraging the purchase or lease of zero-emission off-road equipment in California.

Incentives: CORE offers point-of-sale discounts to offset the higher costs of zero-emission technology, with no scrappage requirement.

GWP’s Home Energy and Water Saving Rebates Program

All electric leaf blowers qualify for rebate. 

Limit 1 rebate every 5 years per customer at the same residence. 

$50 rebate if purchased in Glendale
$40 rebate if purchased outside Glendale

Yountville – Leaf Blower Ordinance Incentive Program

With proof of residency and proof of purchase of electric leaf blower or verified local accounts, on-site staff, etc.) may be eligible for a grant of up to $350 to help offset the cost of new equipment.

Lafayette – Electric leaf blower lending program

Register for the City of Lafayette’s free electric leaf blower lending program registering online here (for the handheld blower), and here (for the commercial-grade blower).  Registration is free of charge and open to all Lafayette residents 18 years of age or older.

Once the leaf blower of interest becomes available, you will be contacted by City of Lafayette staff to coordinate a pick-up time at the Lafayette Community Center.  Please be prepared to bring a current government-issued form of identification (e.g. driver’s license) to verify age and residence prior to checking out the equipment.

The Agreement, Release and Waiver form must be completed and signed by the pick-up date.

Take the leaf blower home and try it out for up to two weeks

The handheld leaf blower kit comes with a cordless 56-volt electric leaf blower (EGO Power+ LB5302, 530 CFM), 2.5 Ah rechargeable battery (EGO Power+ 56V 2.5 Amp hours ARC Lithium-ion battery), standard charger, and educational materials.  The battery charger can be plugged directly into a standard household electric outlet.

The commercial-grade leaf blower kit comes with a cordless 56-volt electric leaf blower (EGO LBPX8006-2, 800 CFM), two rechargeable batteries (EGO Power+ 56V BA5600T 10 amp Hours ARC Lithium-ion batteries), 560W dual port rapid charger, and educational materials.  The battery charger can be plugged directly into a standard household electric outlet.

Return the leaf blower equipment to the Lafayette Community Center on-time, clean, and in good condition.

Colorado

SDCEA – Outdoor Power Equipment Rebates

Rebate of 25% of the cost up to $50 for trimmers, leaf blowers, pruners and power washers

Electric-Powered Lawn Equipment Tax Credit

Colorado allows an income tax credit to incentivize the purchase of electric-powered lawn equipment.

Income tax credit equal to 33% of the aggregate purchase price of he qualifying lawn equipment and must provide the purchaser, at the time of the retail sale, a discount equal to 30% of the purchase price of the qualifying lawn equipment.

Lawn mowers, leaf blowers, trimers, and snowblowers can all qualify for the credit

Mow Down Pollution – RAQC Grant

The RAQC has funding available to help local small businesses using outdoor power equipment in the Denver Metro/North Front Range ozone non-attainment area to replace gasoline-powered equipment. This commercial program is only available through participating Ace Hardware stores.

Funding applications will be reviewed by our selection committee with awards up to $6,000.

All small businesses will be required to contribute a 50% match for the total purchase of new battery powered electric equipment. For example, if you receive a $1,000 grant you will need to make a $2,000 total purchase including grant monies.

Town of Crested Butte Rebate Program

Purchases of small electric outdoor equipment are eligible for this rebate for the indicated amounts. You can receive an extra 25% in rebate funding if you purchase your equipment at a local store in Gunnison County! Rebates may also be combined with Gunnison County Electric Association (GCEA)’s outdoor power equipment rebates!

Leaf blowers: $38 (+$12 for local store purchase) = $50 possible

Gunnison County Electric Association (GCEA) – Energy Efficiency Rebate Program.

Electric leaf blowers qualify for 25% of the cost up to $50.

Maximum rebate of $300 per account per year for all equipment except riding mowers

Highline Electric Association – Energy Efficiency Rebates

HEA’s rebate program is a great way to start putting energy efficiency to work for you

25% of cost up to: $150 for walk-behind mowers, bicycles, or electric snow blowers, up to $250 for a 2-stage electric snow blower, up to $50 for an electric leaf blower, pruner, trimmer, and power washer, up to $100 for electric chainsaws and up to $1,000 for
electric riding mowers. The original purchase rebate application must include 50% of the cost of up to $25 for additional batteries purchased with or for qualifying equipment. Maximum yearly outdoor equipment rebate of $300 per account, except
riding lawnmowers (stand-alone $1,000 cap per member account). One rebate per product type per year, excluding bicycles.

Highline electric rebates

Holy Cross Energy E-Lawn Rebate Application

Rebate amount: 25% of the E-lawn product(s) cost up to a member lifetime maximum of $300.

Criteria:

  • New equipment only
  • Battery or corded electric equipment only
  • Minimum purchase price of $50
  • No resales allowed
  • Lifetime Maximum rebate – $300 per member account

La Plata Electric Association – Outdoor Electric Equipment & E-bikes Rebates

LPEA offers rebates to our members for purchasing outdoor electric equipment and electric bikes. Eligible equipment includes snow blower rebates, lawn mower rebates, leaf blowers rebates, trimmer/pruners rebates, power washers rebates, chainsaw rebates, and electric bike rebates. 

Leaf Blower – 25% of price up to $50

Mountain View Electric Association’s (MVEA) Energy Efficiency Rebates program

Members can only receive a rebate credit for out-of-pocket expenses that haven’t been credited or reimbursed. Only expenses that have been paid will qualify for a rebate credit. For instance, if a member installs a charger costing $1,200 and gets a $1,000 credit, the rebate will only apply to the remaining $200 of the installation cost. 

Electric trimmers, pruners, leaf blowers and power-washers – 25% of cost up to $50.

Poudre Valley REA- Electric Power Equipment Rebates for the Outdoors

Electric leaf blowers qualify for 25% of cost up to $50.

Requirements:

  • New equipment only

  • Maximum rebate of $300 per account per year for all equipment except riding mowers

Florida

City of Winter Park – Electric Leaf Blower Rebate

Electric leaf blower must be purchased between January 15, 2024, through January 1, 2025.

$50 rebate approved to help Winter Park residents purchase electric leaf blowers

  • Must provide proof of purchase
  • Rebate of 25% of purchase price, up to $150
  • Maximum electric equipment rebate per account is $300 annually

To assist in the transition from gas-powered to electric, the City Commission approved a $50 rebate for all households in Winter Park that would be applied as a credit to the resident’s utility bill. Between now and Wednesday, January 1, 2025, residents can apply for the electric leaf blower rebate at cityofwinterpark.org/rebates. One unit per household.

Georgia

There aren’t any active state-led incentives or rebates for transitioning to an electric leaf blower.

Hawaii

There aren’t any active state-led incentives or rebates for transitioning to an electric leaf blower.

Idaho

Illinois

City of Elgin – Zero-Emission Yard Equipment Rebate

Elgin residents who buy either an electric lawnmower, leaf blower, trimmer, edger, snow blower or manual reel lawnmower can receive a $50 rebate check for their purchase.

Purchase receipt (must be 2024) from a retail store within Elgin city boundaries that sells small, gas powered engines. Examples of retail stores that may be eligible include hardware, home improvement, equipment and discount stores. 

Village of Grayslake- Lawn Mower and Leaf Blower Rebate Program

The amount of reimbursement for an electric/battery-powered lawn mower will be 35% (not to exceed $100 excluding sales tax) and the amount for an electric leaf blower will be 50% (not to exceed $75 excluding sales tax).

The Village of Skokie is offering Skokie residents rebates of up to $50
on the purchase of an electric- or battery-powered leaf blower, while
supplies last.

City of Wichita’s air quality program

Rebate is available for up to two purchases per household, up to $100 per item.

Equipment must meet specifications as follows: 

  • New equipment, not used or refurbished.
  • Corded electric or battery-powered
  • Lawn care equipment including mowers, edgers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, mulch blades, and leaf blowers; other landscaping/garden equipment does not qualify for rebate
  • Items are selected on the basis of non-combustion power type only.

  • Rebates for landscapers with revenue under $250,000 annually or 5 or fewer employees can receive up to $1500 in one twelve-month period.
  • Landscapers with revenue over $250,000 or 6 or more employees can receive up to $1000 in one twelve-month period.
  • Residents and Property Managers can receive up to $100 for one rebate.

Town of University Park – Battery/Electric Lawn Equipment Reimbursement

  • The Town Council adopted this program to accompany the ban on gas-powered leaf blowers. This program is designed to encourage town residents to convert to battery- or electric-powered lawn equipment and to help subsidize the cost of conversion to environmentally friendly lawn equipment.

Michigan

Holland BPW – rebates

Customers are eligible for up to four tool rebates per year. However, there is a limit of one rebate (tool-only or tool-plus-recycle-bonus) for each type of electric tool per year.

Leaf Blower – $25

*Recycling a gas-powered tool without purchasing a new electric tool of the same function is not eligible for a rebate.

For example, buying a new electric lawn mower and recycling your old gas-powered one will make you eligible for $50 + $100, or a total rebate of $150!

Lansing Board of Water & Light’s Electrification Program

$25 – $150 rebate. Limit one rebate per item per account.

Great Lakes Energy – Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Customers who purchase new electric outdoor equipment may receive one rebate per year.

$25 rebate for minimum $150 pre-tax priced leaf blower, chainsaw, pole saw, lawn edger, trimmer/weed/whip.

$50 on a $399-$599 electric push lawn mower, snowblower or snow thrower.

$100 on electric snowblower pre-tax priced $599 and above or electric riding lawn mower.

Yonkers – Electric Leaf Blower Rebate Program

Yonkers residents may now receive a $50 rebate from the City for purchasing an electric leaf blower. Yonkers-based landscaping companies can apply for up to 5 rebates of $75 each per electric leaf blower purchased

Ohio

VoLTaGE” (Voluntary Lawn Tool Going Electric) program

rebate can apply to includes, but is not limited to push mowers, string trimmers, leaf blowers, or hedge trimmers

The VoLTaGE Program is limited only to Residents and Businesses located inside the City of
Athens that maintain their own property in which they are located. Proof of residency or
location may be required such as mail, city utility bill, or similar. Lawn maintenance and rental management companies taking care of multiple yards are NOT eligible.

Vermont

Vermont Public Power Supply Authority – Electric Yard Care Rebate
